Foundational Sewing Course (2)
This package consists of 4 modules or sections: (Recommended for the Intermediate sewer)
Edge Finishes -
Neckline Facings with Under stitch finishing. You will learn 3 neckline facings: Round-shaped, V-shaped, and Square-shaped and Sweetheart neckline facings.
Openings & Closures-
These are ways by which we get in and out of a garment, a bag or sometimes used as embellishment. You will learn to make: Regular and Invisible zippers, Button & hole, Hook & Eye, and Press studs.
Intakes-
Princess darts, Pintucks, Box pleat, and Shirring.
Attachments-
These are accessories sewn onto a garment for utility or embellishing purposes. E.g.: Patch pocket, Strap, Lace, and Contrasting Band.
Projects to make after lessons above:- Apron, Tote bag, Pillowcase dress.

- What you will learn
Stitches-
These are important hand and machine sewing techniques you'll need to know. They are useful for both temporary and permanent stitching in garment. You will learn: Basting and hemming, done by hand, as well as Straight, Zigzag and Directional stitching done by machine.
Seams-
These are different methods of joining any two or more layers of a fabric together with a row of stitches. E,g. Side seam. You will learn 4 seams: Open, Closed, French and Flat fell seams.
Edge Finishes-
These are methods by which garment
edges or raw seam edges are neatly finished. These finishes help to prevent
fraying, or hide edges with a trim. You
will learn 4 edge finishes: Zigzag, Hemming, Lacing, and Binding.
Intakes-
These are ways of taking in excess
fabric in the waist, the bust or other parts of a garment to create shape and
best fit. E.g. Dart intake. You will learn 3 intakes: Waistline darts, Knife pleats, Elastic Gathering.
